Paper Pot Making Event: Sat 3/19 10 AM-12 PM

Join the Athens Community Farm team for an impromptu work day this Saturday March 19 from 10 AM – 12 PM making paper pots for our future seedlings!

The farm has partnered with Leslie Reed and local elementary and middle school gardening programs to grow seedlings for our 2022 season. To help this process, we’ll be prepping approximately 300 paper pots for the students at EJA and Catskill Elementary and Coxsackie-Athens Middle School to use for transplants. The student gardeners will fill pots with soil, seeds and tend the plants as they grow. Seedlings will also be available for sale at the schools in May!

Please note, due to weather/swampy conditions this event will not be held at the farm. Join us at organizer Sarah’s house (just a few blocks away) at 7 S Warren Street. This event may have indoor and outdoor opportunities. Please bring a mask.

Can’t make it Saturday but still want to help? There are plenty of work days on the farm coming soon. We’ll be posting shortly about our season kick-off in April!
