Volunteer run, collectively grown, communally shared
We are a community supported micro farm in the heart of the Village of Athens, New York that grows and distributes fruits, vegetables, and herbs. We are built and maintained solely by community volunteers and welcome all our neighbors to come by and enjoy the space. Shares of the harvest are available to anyone who wants them at the farm or distribution locations.
What’s growing is for everyone—no cost or membership needed.

How to get involved
Visit

Come visit the farm any time. We’re located just behind the Athens Volunteer Fire Dept. at 39 Third Street, Athens NY. Explore what’s growing in the beds, do a little weeding or pick your own veggies. The farm space is yours to explore!
Have an idea for the farm? Just let us know and we can work on it!
Pick-up

Stop by the D.R. Evarts library at 80 Second Street, Athens, NY on Saturdays from 10am – 11am. We’ll be set up with free, fresh veggies during their weekly Story Time event.
Rivertown Apts residents: We drop off the week’s harvest in the common room on Wednesdays around 8am.
Volunteer

Want to volunteer? Sign up for updates about upcoming work days and other volunteer opportunities. As volunteers we love to build beds, plant seeds, harvest produce and paint signs. Sometimes we drive veggies around the neighborhood. No experience is necessary to help out – those that know how will teach you and if no one knows, we learn together.
Donate
The farm relies on donations to keep it running. Please feel free to connect us with anyone that may be able to provide materials like lumber, soil, seedlings or tools. Have the capacity to donate directly?
We’re currently raising funds to provide produce to the Athens Food Pantry and Rivertown Senior Apartments this winter by purchasing CSA shares from Black Horse Farms. Donate today if you’re able!
Please make checks out to Sarah Grinberg w/ Athens Community Farm in the notes. Checks can be mailed to:
