September Work Day: Wed 9/18 5:30-7 PM!

It’s time for our annual mid-week “work evening” at the farm! Stop by Wednesday, September 18 from 5:30-7 PM to weed beds, clear summer crops, and maybe even throw a few more radish seeds in the open soil. We love this tradition of gathering at the garden around sunset and welcome all our farm friends that can’t make the typical early weekend work days. Drinks (yes, drinks 😉 and snacks provided.

Can’t make it this time? Don’t worry! We’ll still have a few more work days before closing down for the season. Keep an eye here or on our social pages for more info and reach out to athenscommunityfarm[at]gmail.com with any questions!

When
Wed, Sept 18
5:30 PM – 7 PM (rain date TBD)

Where
Athens Community Farm
39 Third Street, Athens NY (right behind the Athens Volunteer Fire Dept.)

Goals for the day

  • Pull out the last of the summer crops.
  • Direct seed remaining fall veggies
  • Chat fall fundraiser ideas!
  • Enjoy a (hopefully not too buggy) sunset with our fellow community farmers.

What to bring

  • Gloves.
  • Any favorite weeding tools (although we have plenty, so no worries if you do’t have one).
Planting radish seeds at the farm and checking on our latest succession of fall lettuce. Colder temps mean the return of crisp greens at the farm!
