Everyone noticing that it’s getting dark a little earlier these days? It definitely hit us this week which means… it’s time to get the farm ready for the fall! Let’s pull out some of the summer crops that are slowing down (eggplant, some cucumbers, maybe a tomato or two…) and replant our beds with exciting veggies that thrive in colder weather, think: radishes, mustard greens, chicories, herbs + more. We’ve already got some beans, broccoli, kales, and carrots going, so we’ll also need to weed and amend these beds to make sure we have a thriving garden come September.
Can’t make it this time? Don’t worry! We’ll have a work day every month, along with other fun events throughout the season. Keep an eye here or on our social pages for more info and reach out to athenscommunityfarm[at]gmail.com with any questions!
